The disaster of January 22nd 2026 at Mt Maunganui.
As of today, recovery of people lost in the mud slide continues.
Four days later streets are still cordoned off and a somber feeling hangs over us all.

Taken on the 26th of January. Slips are visible. But this photo will be on my wall. Over the past 50 years very few days went by when I was not either living at the Mount or walking on Mauao absorbing its beauty and strong presence.
