Reverse Engineering

We deconstructed an old Kodak Box Brownie.
I was shocked to see how simple but robust it was. Very impressed.

Training or exploring does not get better than this.

1983 Port of Tauranga

37 years ago our port had this lonely and somewhat smallish crane.
Based on the mount wharf then.
That was in the black and white days.
This is today!
Based on the container wharf at Tauranga now.

B&W Oldies

Tanks
This is from my old negative collection. Just learning to scan.
I love the look of the old B&W films and the scan seems capable of reproducing them quite well.

Good News After Bad

I know we cringe at the fact that animals we have as pets are on the menu.
Somewhere between 10 million and 20 million dogs and 4 million cats are killed annually in China for food.
They are rethinking the practice by the look of the stats.

Reusing and Greenhouse Gasses

Wow, organic cotton comes out worst!
Not sure about the data on cotton. Do I need to wear my shirt 149 times or is that 149 owners?
Will check.

Family Moment

Ken on my lap!
Would not happen now😁
This must have been before we left Nelson (looks like the old Glenn property)
So I would have been maybe 6 and Ken 1. I am sure the girls will put me right.
Like the Teddy in the dirt face down...

This May Surprise

Daily deaths globally from infectious disease.
The HIV reference was about treatment with bone marrow transplant being successful for the second time.
TB was a disease people in my generation and our parents grew up with and for many years effective treatments were available. I suspect the disease must have become somewhat resistant now.

One More For Family

Graham and Diane centre couple with Rob and me on the right.
Some time in the 80's. I have no idea what this was all about.
Clearly a drink missing from my hand...

Happy Birthday Robyn

Colour Your Days

Something we take for granted.
Compared to my childhood days we live in an amazingly colourful world, well, in most countries.
