Squid. Night dive in South East Bay Mayor Island.
A fairly normal night dive turned into and amazing adventure when a large school of squid were attracted to our dive lights. These creatures are just a blob of jelly when caught on a line but in their element they are amazing. Going from being fully transparent to metallic copper to bright blue as they came close to check us out. They manoeuvre in all directions in the blink of an eye.
