I took a days annual to go to the range (freezing!) and shoot in a new match barrel on my rifle.
Another crazy person was also braving the cold and one of his firearms was a world war two semi auto

He let me fire a mag full of rounds (Yes!)
I was stunned at how beautiful this little gun was. Light well engineered and simple.
Of equal interest is the history behind this carbine (short barrel)
The design came from a competition and was awarded to 10 company's to manufacture. Not all of them arms firms. Collectively they manufactured 6 million units.
They are nowadays a collectors piece.
