Nelson was the venue for the first game of rugby in New Zealand.
My father, Ken, played rep rugby for Nelson Rivals rugby club back in the 40's.
This is the current club rooms facility.
Not that exciting but it is the oldest rugby club in the country.
In later years, the 70's, my bro Ken made a name for himself in Tauranga club rugby. (Party guy....) and earlier in my rugby days I had the rep of being a great winger....not! All us Catholic boys got to play rugby or else! I never got the gene like Ken did.
